Our Commitment to Health, Safety and Security

For 60 years, Killarney Hotels has placed an unwavering focus on the health and wellbeing of our most valued guests and colleagues in each of our properties. Rest assured that this focus is especially important during the current Coronavirus crisis. We are continuously monitoring and following the changes in recommendations and guidelines from the government, local authorities and from the World Health Organisation (WHO), to continue working towards providing the best service possible, while safeguarding the welfare of our guests and colleagues.

The Europe Hotel & Resort is proud to have been awarded the Fáilte Ireland Safety Charter. The Safety Charter assures you that we are operating in line with the current Government guidelines with the necessary safety and cleaning protocols in place throughout the hotel.

We have implemented a framework to protect our team and guests, not limited to but including following areas:

  • When open, we have diligently adhered to the guidelines advised by the government and Chief Medical Officer in order to safely look after our guests, team and visitors in our local community

  • We have established a team in house to manage the framework and communicate these measures to each department, so all team members are fully prepared. All employees returning to work have completed a comprehensive COVID-19 hygiene and safety control training course.

  • Hand Sanitizer stations are at all entry doors, reception, dining areas and are easily accessed in public areas.

  • Our Accommodation Department has implemented enhanced sanitising measures in each guestroom paying particular attention to the disinfection of touch points such as door handles, remote controls, light switches, counter tops etc. A strict sanitising procedure for all public areas is also implemented and adhered to.

  • Seating in public areas, restaurants, bars and lounges is configured to adhere to the social distancing guidelines. We may implement maximum capacities for certain times and areas to allow for a safe experience in our food and beverage outlets, in line with guidelines. We offer table service in our public areas in addition to Room Service to guestrooms.

  • Strict hand hygiene is implemented for all team members and notice points are in place to continually communicate proper hand hygiene, coughing etiquette, along with information on COVID-19 symptoms and prevention measures.

  • We will continue to review guidance provided by the relevant authorities including the HSE, Health Protection Surveillance Centre (HPSC), the WHO and the Department of Foreign Affairs.

Stays and Cancellations

Preventing the spread of COVID-19 and keeping everyone safe and healthy is the primary goal for each and every one of us and we are happy to assist with any questions that you may have if you are planning your stay, or before your arrival.

Whilst we would love to keep 'The Europe's Experience' as normal as possible, in line with governmental guidelines, we do have to make some changes to the way we operate. Luckily, The Europe is a large hotel with spacious public areas and extensive grounds, so we are confident that we can manage social distancing well. 

Additionally, we have implemented the option to check-in and check-out of the hotel online to allow for an easy and safe experience for all guests. There are numerous other initiatives we are undertaking to ensure as much as possible the safety and health of all our guests, employees and suppliers and our commitment to hygiene and cleanliness remains of paramount importance.


Above all, we want you as our guest to have a relaxed and enjoyable stay with us. In this new era for hospitality, some necessary changes are required to keep each other safe, however rest assured that The Europe's infamous warm welcome and the friendly familiar faces of our team remain unchanged.

Reservations for stays can be made on our website, by email or telephone. Our cancellation policy allows for free cancellation up to 48 hours prior to arrival offering flexibility in these uncertain times.
